Photography and travel have always been passions of mine. When my two sons were born, my photographic style changed dramatically: I went from trying to get people out of my landscapes to trying to fit the landscape around my children's portraits. Photographs are the way we remember those we love, fun places we've been, and are often our way of communicating with far off friends and family. I photograph kids being kids and the adults that belong to them using natural light in interesting settings.
Originally trained as a chemist, I have a love for the chemical processes of photography. My journey into photography included a course at UC Berkeley that covered black and white processing and printing. Soon after, I purchased my first digital SLR and began to study digital photography and Photoshop processing.
If I could live my life in a darkroom, I probably would. However, I enjoy the versatility of digital photography and my portrait work is now shot all in digital format. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
